In 1936, Maravillas—known to family and friends as Mara—and Baldomero (Baldo) escaped the Civil War and found refuge on Levante’s golden sands. They married at dawn, barefoot on the beach, and in 1956 acquired an orchard on Benidorm’s outskirts.
There they built Apartments Tugar, one of the town’s pioneering holiday lodgings. Generations later, Mara and Baldo’s grandchildren transformed that original building into a boutique destination, preserving their grandparents’ spirit of warmth and community
